Tempest

wave Groove (Westley Ulit) has been releasing a lot more music over the past year. After incorporating an iPad into his set up, on which he frequents Polyplayground (an isomorphic keyboard midi app by Mike Gao) beat making became a discipline he could take anywhere. With that flexibility came more songs, more albums, and a burgeoning crew of loyal listeners.

After releasing Time Traveller 1 [Ascension], Time Traveller 2 [Warp // Focus], wave Groove’s newest project TEMPEST is a concept album. “It’s about slowly getting ready for a storm you know is coming, and the only way to process it, is to go through it.” Experiencing a string of ambiguous relationships sharpened his focus right back into making music. Seeing the beat community flourish, and new musical crews pop-up and fold, the LA scene became a parallel revelation on the tempestuous nature of music, trends and relationships.
