Happy Wednesday y'all!
Right now I'm working on my first video interview with Jeremy Schettino (BC resident JERMS)! I'm extremely excited about putting this out since I stick to mostly writing feature articles, but it'll be a great interview to watch and be able to see some faces of Beat Cinema, get a little personal with JERMS & talk about his new EP release.
Follow Jeremy Schettino on Instagram & twitter to stay updated on the official video release:
Most of the people reading this probably have no clue who I am, so I'll try and keep it brief, but here's a little background story:
Since the age of five, I already knew what what my dream career would be-- I've been passionate about music and writing for as long as I can remember and so about two years ago I started my own website (Rock Bottom Communications). I started coming out to Los Angeles and going to a lot of shows and promoted music and events that I personally supported. I interviewed a few artists and wrote feature articles that I put up on my website. I remember the first few times introducing myself to talented artists and was in shock when they mentioned RBC. I never thought in a million years that my little website and brand would gain recognition. I can honestly say taking the risk and jumping into the music industry without a clue to what I was doing has been one of the best decisions of my life. I couldn't be happier with the position I'm in now.
I'm not going to lie, I had my fair share of bullshit thrown at me throughout the years. People spreading rumors, hearing "nobody will take her seriously because she's just another chick." At one point, I actually doubted if I should even be in the industry-- yes, it's been my dream since day one, but was I cut out for this? Then I remembered who I was and what I'm doing: running this shit.
Everything I've learned about this work has been through my own experiences, trial and error and from great mentors. Yes, the music industry is vicious, but if it's not challenging then what's the point? I'm grateful for everyone who has supported me throughout the past few years and still do.
Since I began working with Beat Cinema as an intern, I appreciate each one of them for helping me grow and teaching me the ropes along the way. I have a lot of respect for what Beat Cinema represents and even more for the people apart of it.
For anyone else out there doing the same: don't give up when it gets hard, remember you're capable of whatever your goals are and we're all out here learning, growing, and supporting each other.
All love for y'all.
